🎉 Belgium 🇧🇪: Revolut Becomes a Direct Competitor to Local Banks
Starting May 1, new Belgian users will be able to open accounts directly with Revolut Bank, while existing users will be able to quickly transfer their data from local banks.
➡️ Belgians who choose the services of the British-Lithuanian neobank will be able to make transfers using a local IBANstarting with BE. It's worth noting that there are some issues with other foreign "IBANs" in Belgium, and LT (Revolut's IBAN) may be one of them.
➡️ Currently, Revolut has 700,000 users in Belgium. This number is expected to increase to 1 million by the end of the year. For context: Belgium has a population of 11,584,008 people, and its GDP is 56,128 USD.
➡️ As part of its marketing strategy, Revolut plans to offer a “non-regulated” savings rate. Its main attraction will be a fixed rate, very close to the European Central Bank's rate, with daily interest payments. The exact rate has not yet been disclosed.
➡️ The refund will also increase as the value of the subscription package grows. Revolut's packages range from freeto 50 euros per month for the most complete option, which includes travel cancellation "for any reason" and access to airport VIP lounges.
