📣Attention, #Africa: 🇰🇪 Equity Bank will allow instant withdrawals via PayPal

🔠 Previously, transactions required a 24-hour waiting period, but now they can be completed instantly, in either KES and USD, with a limit of USD 10,000 (approximately KES 1.4 million ) per transaction.

🔠 The general perception of PayPal in Kenya is mixed. Many users have expressed dissatisfaction due to PayPal retaining their funds for several months, justifying it with the review of transfers it considers "suspicious". So far, the situation has been alleviated by the partnership with local payment provider M-Pesa, which handled transactions in KES.

🔠 To put it in context: according to projections from the Statista platform, in 2024, the transaction volume in the Kenyan digital commerce market will reach 3.10 billion USD. As of December 2023, there were approximately 77.3 million mobile accounts registered in this geographical area.
