😱 Argentina🇦🇷: The operation at the clandestine casino 'Vulkano' ends with the arrest of the owner and the seizure of slot machines.

On Saturday night, the police dismantled an establishment called "Vulkano Ciber Club", located in the heart of Buenos Aires, right in front of the municipality. The Armenian citizen Karapet Khachatryan, who was registered as the owner, surely knew that physical casinos are prohibited in the Argentine capital… but for some reason, he decided that if he wrote "cyberclub" on the sign, everyone would believe it.

🔣 During the operation, the authorities seized equipment worth approximately 33 847 USD: including 28 computers, 10 surveillance cameras, 4 mobile phones, as well as various sums of money and relevant documentation.

🔣 At the time of the raid, there were 17 people in the premises, including a minor. The presence of a minor aggravates the legal situation of the owner, given the growing focus on the fight against youth gambling addiction in Argentina.

🔣 Since December 2023, the City Lottery Administration (Lotería de la Ciudad) has received 79 complaints from concerned citizens and has carried out raids on 65 establishments. As for online casinos, the administration has inspected 4 713 websites and applications in the indicated period, of which 2 723 turned out to be illegal.

🔣 Remember that the state system in Argentina is federal, which means that the laws relating to gambling and sports betting may vary significantly in the different provinces.
