Argentina🇦🇷: Lotería del Chubut (Chubut Lottery) will use AI to combat illegal gambling

The agency will discuss new control tools at the ALEA meeting in November.

💠 Ramiro Ibarra, president of the Instituto de Asistencia Social (IAS)–Lotería del Chubut, announced the implementation of an AI-based platform to detect illegal betting websites. The tool will also allow authorities to identify and block bank accounts linked to illegal operators and generate documentation for submission to the courts.

💠 In November, the city of Puerto Madryn will host a national meeting of the Association of State Lotteries of Argentina (ALEA) dedicated to improving control and monitoring tools amid the growing number of illegal online platforms. It should be recalled that Argentina, as a federal state, does not have a single national regulator, and each province has its own rules.

💠 For the Chubut provincial agency, the lottery remains one of its main sources of revenue. Each month, prizes totaling approximately USD 595,000-660,000 are paid out. Online gaming is regulated through the licensed BetWarrior platform, which allows only adult players.
