The player subsequently provided authorities with information about an alleged financial operator linked to the scheme. The investigation later led to the arrest of that individual together with the son of the club's president.

🥺 How the scheme worked: users were provided with personal login credentials, while operators managed player balances, accepted bets and paid out winnings via bank transfers, digital wallets or cash. The operation relied on a network of local intermediaries responsible for recruiting players, managing credit and collecting payments.

🥺 According to investigators, illegal gambling has become one of the fastest-growing illicit businesses in Rosario and is closely connected to organized crime. Approximately one week ago, the specialized gambling prosecutor's office blocked 6 illegal betting platforms in Argentina's capital within a 48-hour period.

🥺 Meanwhile, the Argentine government is preparing what could become the most far-reaching gambling reform in the country's history. The legislative package introduces new criminal penalties for illegal betting, tighter advertising restrictions and stronger player protection measures. The reforms, officially submitted to Congress on May 22, include a gambling addiction bill prepared by the Secretariat for Comprehensive Drug Policies (Sedronar) with participation from the Ministry of Health.
