⚡️Apple plans to allow iOS developers to use third-party payment systems

In other words, apps will be granted access to iPhone contactless payment features.

➡️ The changes are limited to the European Union and are expected to take effect on March 6th in accordance with the EU Digital Markets Act.

➡️ Of course, you can't go against the law, but Apple has issued a warning: downloading third-party apps on iOS opens up new opportunities for malware, fraud, illegal content, and other privacy and security threats.

➡️ Apple will still collect a commission on purchases made through iOS apps, but it will decrease from 30% to 10-20% depending on whether app developers choose to use the Apple Store and payment processing services.

➡️ In the United States🇺🇸, on the other hand, Apple is facing antitrust pressure: they are expecting Apple to abandon the policy that requires app developers to use only Apple's payment processing system. Additionally, the company is facing resistance regarding limitations on the ability of devices to make contactless payments.

According to Bloomberg, the U.S. Department of Justice may initiate its own antitrust case against Apple in the first half of this year.
