😱An interesting precedent: a Russian🇷🇺 court recognizes crypto operations via personal cards as business activity

A regional arbitration court rejected the claim of a Rostov entrepreneur who, in 2022, conducted crypto transactions totaling 143.6 million rubles and attempted to avoid paying 5.4 million rubles in taxes.

➡️ The entrepreneur purchased cryptocurrencies using foreign accounts and later sold them to Russian citizens, reporting the income under the personal income tax (NDFL) regime.

➡️He used a total of 90 foreign accounts, which was detected by authorities despite his attempts to avoid tax responsibilities.

➡️Currently, digital currency has already been legally recognized as property in Russia.

➡️ In the end, the court found that the operations showed clear signs of systematic profit-making and determined that 92.5 million rubles of the total transactions should be considered taxable income.
