🏴‍☠️ According to a Revolut study, scammers are moving to supposedly "secure" apps like WhatsApp and Telegram

Although Facebook remains the platform of choice for criminals, with 28% of fraud cases reported, the latest report shows a shift towards WhatsApp (21%) and Telegram (18%).

➡️ Meta platforms still lead the fraud ranking, with 54% of cases.

➡️ In 2024, Revolut prevented fraud losses totaling over 600 million pounds. The in-app calling feature, launched this year, has helped prevent these scams.

➡️ Revolut warns:

⚠️ Encryption is not synonymous with protection. The number of cases from Telegram surged by an astonishing 121% in the second half of 2024.

⚠️ Fraud related to purchases (especially tickets) continues to dominate. In this category, vulnerability is more pronounced among individuals aged 17 to 34.
